Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Good evening everyone!

This evening I made simple but yummy chocolate chip banana bread. If you’re a fan of banana bread, then this is a nice twist to the classic taste. It does take over an hour to bake, but it’s totally worth the wait! Check out my Instagram for a quick how-to video.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (125 gr.) softened butter or margarine
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

You will need three separate bowls. In one bowl mix your dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, soda, salt). Next, in another bowl mash your bananas with the cinnamon and milk using a fork. In the third bowl beat your butter and sugar, then add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each one. Add in the banana mixture into this third bowl and finish off by mixing in your flour mixture. Lastly, add your chocolate chips and use a spatula to fold them in. Pour into a loaf pan lined with parchment paper and bake at 165°C/325°F for 70-75 minutes.

I have already made banana bread before, using Nutella, and also a chocolate chip cake. This recipe is almost like a blend of them! It generally tastes exactly like normal banana bread, but with a slight touch of chocolate and occasional spiciness from the cinnamon. Overall, it’s soft and fluffy, and a great cake for when you have a couple of ripe bananas lying around. Let me know if you try it 🙂

Until next time!
