Yummy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Hello!

     I had baked chocolate chip cookies and shared on my blog before… but it has been about a year and a half since then! Also, this recipe requires only white granulated sugar, so don’t despair if you don’t have any brown sugar. It will take you less than 30 minutes from start to finish, as the dough requires no chilling 🙂

Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 1 cup (225 gr.) softened, unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla powder OR 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

     Pre-heat your oven to 190°C/375°F and prepare two baking trays by lining them with parchment paper. Start by beating your butter and sugar with an electric mixer for 2-3 minutes. Then add in your eggs and vanilla. Mix your flour, soda, and salt in another bowl, then gradually add that mixture into the batter. Once you have a fairly solid consistency, add your chocolate chips and use a spatula to mix them in. That’s all!

    Use an ice-cream scooper so that you can have equal-sized balls of dough and place them a bit apart on the tray; you will notice that the cookies don’t spread too much. I ended up with a total of 20 cookies, but you can always make them smaller or bigger. They will rise a little, so I was pleasantly surprised, because I usually expect cookies to flatten out. However, I am sure you can see in the following photos how they were still quite round. Bake for about 10-14 minutes; the time will change depending on your oven, so just check how soft they are to the touch, if the dough immediately sinks then it’s still raw.

     They have a slight crunch, but are still relatively soft too, so I personally really like that combination. If you’d like to spice up the taste a little, feel free to add some walnuts. Everyone seemed to approve, so I will definitely be baking some more in December 🙂 These are perfect if you need a quick snack or a sweet breakfast.
